To celebrate the UK debut of the Brickwrecks: Sunken Ships in LEGO® Bricks exhibition at The Historic Dockyard Chatham, a thrilling LEGO building competition has been launched! This exciting contest invites LEGO enthusiasts and master builders of all ages to design and build their own Dockyard-inspired LEGO creations for a chance to be featured in the upcoming exhibition.
The competition aims to find the best LEGO builders in the UK, whether that be yourself, a family or friend, or a school or group that you are part of. The Historic Dockyard Chatham hopes that the competition will add further "LEGO-fever" to the dockyard with exciting and adventurous builds based on the theme of naval/ships/dockyard items.

Whether you're a seasoned LEGO master or an aspiring young builder, this competition is open to three age categories: aged 8 and under, 9 to 17 years, and 18 years and over. Winners in each category will receive annual tickets to The Historic Dockyard Chatham, exclusive LEGO gifts, and the incredible opportunity to have their models displayed alongside the stunning shipwreck recreations of the Brickwrecks exhibit.
Further adding to the excitement of both the exhibition and the competition, entries will be judged by Ryan "The Brickman" McNaught, the renowned LEGO Certified Professional and TV personality from LEGO Master Australia. His expertise in LEGO design ensures that creativity, craftsmanship, and storytelling will all play a key role in selecting the winners.

To participate in this wonderful competition, entrants must create a LEGO model inspired by the Historic Dockyard, naval history, or ships. The possibilities are endless, from battleships to dockside cranes, submarines to maritime-inspired fantasy builds. Entries must be submitted via thedockyard.co.uk, where full competition details, guidelines, and deadlines are available.
Paul Barnard, Deputy Chief Executive of the Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust, shared his enthusiasm for the competition: “In adding a competition to the spring programme at the Dockyard, we hope that model entries will add even further to the LEGO fever we are all excited about unleashing this spring at The Historic Dockyard Chatham.”
This is your chance to be part of an internationally acclaimed exhibition and showcase your LEGO creativity on a grand stage. Whether you build a model of a legendary ship, an iconic part of the Dockyard, or a unique maritime-inspired design, this competition is a must-enter for LEGO fans of all ages.
Visit thedockyard.co.uk to submit your entry and be part of Brickwrecks: Sunken Ships in LEGO® Bricks from the 8th of March to the 31st of August 2025.
