The LEGO DC theme is back as LEGO have officially unveiled the superhero themes D2C for 2024. In particular, this is the previously rumoured 18+ mode of 76328 Batman: The Classic TV Series Batmobile. The set releases on the 1st of October 2024 with 1,822 pieces included for a retail price of $149.99 / €149.99 / £129.99.
LEGO DC and LEGO Batman models based on the Classic TV series have appeared plenty of times before in brick-built LEGO form. The last of these was 76188 Batman Classic TV Series Batmobile which released back in 2021 for just $30. As you can tell from the official images, 2024s 76328 is much bigger with a total of 1,822 pieces used to create the Batmobile which comes with an 18+ display plaque and sadly just a singular Minifigure of Batman wearing his dark blue suit along with his dark blue rubber cape.
The iconic vehicle of Adam West's Batman is recreated with plenty of details and beautiful building techniques. The 1,822 pieces recreate the nostalgic red and black colour scheme which really pops on the 18+ box art. Details such as the Batman logo, the tail fins and those in the interior of the car are recreated with stickers, while the logos on the rims use much better and less cheap-looking prints.
The Batmobile from 1966 includes the already mentioned detailed cockpit that includes two brand-new windshield pieces. A rocket engine is located at the rear of the brick-built vehicle which also includes headlights, Bat-Ray projectors which are recreated with stickers and grilles from which gas can flow out of just like the original TV series.
