With 2025 just around the corner, LEGO Friends and minidoll fans have some exciting new sets rumoured for a 1st of January 2025 release date. In total, two polybags and 18 playsets are rumoured to be hitting shelves on this busy release date followed by another action-packed wave in the summer.
Currently, only set numbers and names are rumoured, with only a couple of models including piece counts so we can't speculate too much on what will be included in each of 18 sets. However, with the information we know so far we're interested in mainly three sets: 42656 Heartlake City Airport And Airplane, 42669 Beekeepers House And Flower Garden and 42670 Heartlake City Apartments And Stores.
The first of these that we're putting under the spotlight, 42656 Heartlake City Airport And Airplane, is the only one of the three not to have a rumoured piece count. However, being the first LEGO Friends Airport since 2015's 41109 Heartlake Aiport, we expect a substantial upgrade with another colourful airplane along with a hopefully expanded airport. Features like a terminal and a boarding area would make it the most immersive LEGO Aiport set yet.
42669 Beekeepers House And Flower Garden sounds like your stereotypical LEGO Friends set coming in with around 300 to 500 pieces. But in reality, the 2025 model includes over 1,000 elements with a piece count of 1,161. The extremely detailed nature-themed build will likely be another beautifully crafted model from the LEGO Friends theme, raising awareness for bees yet being a perfect and unique addition to a LEGO city.
Last but not least is 42670 Heartlake City Apartments And Stores - currently the biggest set on this list with a total of 2,040 pieces. On paper, this sounds like a set on the same scale and template as both 41704 Main Street Building and 41732 Downtown Flower and Design Stores which included 1,682 pieces and 2,010 pieces respectively.
2025s 42670 will likely combine the busy shopping life with a more relaxing residential life with highly detailed and imaginative flats. Heartlake City Apartments And Stores will, like the rest of the 17 sets releasing on the 1st of January 2025, be minidoll heavy featuring the main Friends of the freshly rebooted theme.
