The LEGO Icons theme has many subthemes and one of the most popular amongst adult LEGO fans is the brick-built vehicles subtheme. This range of sets will be expanding even further this year thanks to information from Promobricks.de cancelling the recent rumours about a LEGO Fortnite set. Instead, 10317 will be a LEGO version of the Classic Land Rover Defender.
Following on from the most recent set in the subtheme 10304 Chevrolet Camaro Z28, the Land Rover will be based on past versions rather than the most recent 2020 version. The rather angular construction of the original model should translate well in LEGO form. It already has been done before: in 2019 42210 Land Rover Defender was released under the LEGO Technic theme.
10317 Land Rover Classic Defender currently has no more rumoured information about things like colour, doors and other functions. However, with a fairly large piece count for sets of this subtheme, 2,336 pieces, it's likely to be very detailed and may have a fair amount of interior space. It'll also retail for a relatively high price of $239.99 once it releases on 1st April 2023.
