After the popular release of 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell, it's no surprise that another Lord of the Rings set will release next year. In particular, this will be another LEGO Icons branded set of 10333 The Lord of the Rings: Barad-Dur. The price and piece count of the 18+ set are currently just estimates but we're expecting the set to retail between $400 and $500 with a piece count around the 4,000 mark.
Those of you keen LEGO fans will know that this set has been rumoured since earlier this year when a survey online leaked a Barad-Dur 18+ build. And this set will be that build but of course, modified with extra Lord of the Rings details and could even be slightly cheaper than that estimated price depending on the feedback from the survey. Either way, we're likely to find out more details soon as 10333 is rumoured to release on 1st March 2024
The actual build of Barad-Dur, Sauron's fortress in Mordor, is expected to be around 83 cm high, 44cm wide and 36cm deep with the Eye of Sauron taking up most of the set and being visible at the top of the build. However, a detailed interior will also be included with dungeons and armouries for Sauron's army of Orcs.
The set will also be Minifigure scale just like 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell. Currently, it's believed the Minifigures of Sauron in full armour, Sam Gamgee, Frodo Baggins with the ring and a couple of Orcs will be included. But with 10316 including 15 Minifigures, we expect a lot more Minifigures to be included in the final set once it releases next year on the 1st of March 2024.
