Jaws is classic cinema and on the 3rd of August 2024, it is sure going to be a classic set for the LEGO Ideas theme and the set has been officially revealed today. 21350 Jaws is the sixth LEGO Ideas set of 2024 and the second most expensive with a retail price of $159.99 / €159.99 / £139.99 for a total of 1,497 pieces. The 18+ model is the first based on the 1975 movie directed by Steven Spielberg and the 1974 novel by Peter Benchley but many more brick-built recreations may come in the future.
The original submission, simply entitled 'Jaws', was created by LEGO Ideas user Driving Faces and was officially approved just over a year ago. Since then the LEGO designers have been hard at work creating the perfect set based on the 1970s Jaws movie. Just like the original submission, three Minifigures are included of Martin Brody, Matt Hooper and Quint. These are all exclusive, extremely detailed and accurate to their movie counterparts particularly with their new face prints.
The main build of the 18+ set is an accurate representation of the shark-hunting vessel named the ORCA. This boat is mainly coloured red, white and black and includes a detailed interior with lots of sharking/fishing equipment as well as those famous yellow barrels. Other cool features of the perfectly crafted boat include a map, a letter, a harpoon, a machete and even more fishing barrels
And of course, the set isn't complete without Bruce the Shark which the LEGO designers have made to perfection. His a lovely grey colour with a section of white around his mouth which includes some very sharp teeth. Both Bruce and the boat sit on a black display stand which has blue and white tiles for the sea and waves as well as Chief Brody's quote "You're gonna need a bigger boat" on the front. Bruce can also be displayed on a separate stand.
