LEGO Minifigures 71049 CMF Formula 1 Series Rumoured For May 2025

It's already been confirmed that 2025 will be the year of LEGO and Formula 1 as both global brands have entered into a multi-year partnership. The partnership will consist of a range of sets from an even wider range of themes such as LEGO City, Duplo, Icon, Speed Champions, Technic and many more. And new rumours suggest that one of these themes may be LEGO Minifigures...

Just this year we saw the LEGO Minifigures theme partake in LEGO's epic year of Space with the release of 71046 Series 26 Space. Exactly a year later on the 1st of May 2025, we'll reportedly see 71049 CMF Formula 1 Series race onto shelves with the official F1 logo and branding. The second LEGO Minifigures series of 2025, after 71048 Series 27 in January, will retail for the usual price of $4.99 / €3.99 / £3.49 in the scanable blind boxes.

According to current rumours from Instagram user palnet, 71049 will not consist of full Minifigures and be instead similar to the old LEGO Racers theme from 2002. Each figure will have a buildable F1 car with Minifigure heads and helmets attached. Rumours also indicate that each of the current 10 Formula 1 teams will be represented - resulting in only 10 Minifigures included in the series rather than the usual 12.

Whether these rumours actually appear to be true is currently unknown but we can confirm that 71049 is an F1-themed Minifigure series. Licenses for each of the current 20 F1 drivers will likely be hard to come by and therefore LEGO has focused more on small brick-built cars for each team rather than recreating a brick-built form of each driver.
