LEGO Star Wars 40730 Luke Skywalker's Lightsaber GWP Officially Revealed | 3rd October 2024

After the official reveal of 75397 Jabba's Sail barge just yesterday, the D2Cs corresponding Gift With Purchase has also been officially presented for a 3rd of October 2024 release. In particular, this LEGO Star Wars GWP is 40730 Luke Skywalker's Lightsaber which includes a total of 145 pieces and will only be available with purchases of the third and final LEGO Star Wars D2C of 2024 of 75397.

As the name suggests, 40730 is a brick-built recreation of Luke Skywalker's Lightsaber very similar to a previous promotional item of 40483 Luke Skywalker's Lightsaber that released in 2021 alongside 75313 AT-AT. Three years later and we're getting another version of Luke's lightsaber as a GWP which is instead based on the weapon first used from Return of the Jedi onwards and that we first see on the Sail Barge coincidentally.

Unlike his first one which he lost during his lightsaber battle with Darth Vader, the one Luke yields in Return of the Jedi onwards is green rather than blue. However, in this brick-built LEGO form, the colours of the lightsaber aren't shown as LEGO has captured the actual sabre hilt and all its much smaller, specific details. Along with the actual lightsaber, 40730 also includes a black display stand and a small namplate with the whole lightsaber model measuring 26 cm long and 8 cm in diameter.
