LEGO Super Mario January 2024 Sets Officially Revealed | Bowser Muscle Car, Dorrie Shipwreck + More

The LEGO Super Mario theme has become the second LEGO theme to have its 2024 sets officially revealed after LEGO Animal Crossing. The Nintendo gaming theme continues with the course building system unlike the new LEGO Animal Crossing theme which includes moulded heads for Minifigures.

However, this brand new wave of five sets is much cheaper than previous waves. The sets range between the prices of $10.99 and $44.99 whereas in previous years at least one set has been around $80-$100. And the sets have a much better price-per-piece ratio than previous iterations in the theme. For example, 71431 Bowser's Muscle Car Expansion Set includes 458 pieces for only $29.99.

And that set of 71431 is probably the best of the wave in our opinion including Bowser's purple muscle car in brick-built LEGO form. It's also the cheapest way to get LEGO Bowser at only $30. But it isn't the cheapest set of the wave as that goes to 71428 Yoshi's Egg-cellent Forest Expansion Set which doesn't include much apart from an exclusive Yoshi printed egg and two more brick-built Yoshi's.

Those two expansion sets are then followed by two more expansion sets both retailing for $19.99. These are 71429 Nabbit at Toad's Shop and 71430 Penguin Family Snow Adventure which were revealed a couple of weeks ago. Both sets expand our range of brick-built characters to include Nabbit, a yellow toad a baby penguin, an adult penguin and a festive Goomba with a santa hat.

The fifth and final set of the January 2024 LEGO Super Mario is the most expensive coming in at $44.99 for 500 pieces. 71432 Dorrie's Sunken Shipwreck Adventure Expansion Set is a brick-built shipwreck for Mario, Luigi and Peach to explore with plenty of seaweed and beach, sea and shipwreck tiles to explore. The main play feature of a platform you can spin to uncover the Key Block hidden in the clamshell and open the treasure chest.
