LEGO Technic is a theme rarely covered on our site but as 13 sets are rumoured to release in the first half of next year its only right we cover them. And what a wave to cover with those 13 sets releasing across January and March 2024 including licenses such as Mack, McLaren, John Deere and more.
On 1st January 2024, Promobricks.de are reporting that a total of five LEGO Technic sets will be releasing. The cheapest of these is 42163 Heavy Duty Bulldozer which will retail for $10.99 with 195 pieces. This is then closely followed by 42164 Off-Road Racing Buggy which retails for just a couple dollars more at $15.99 with 219 pieces.
More lowered price sets continue for the theme but this time based on a real model with a well known brand name. The McLaren racing team is one of these brands that will have two sets of 42166 NEOM McLaren Extreme E Race Car and 42169 NEOM McLaren Formula E Race Car. 42166 is a $26.99 off-raoder for the Extreme E Series whilst 42169 is another Formula E model, this time retailing for $42.99 with 452 pieces.
With the January 2024 set of 42168 John Deere 9700 Forage Harvester, LEGO will be gigivng us another model from the popular John Deere license. With 559 pieces for $42.99, the self propelled forage harvester should again appear in the classic yellow-green John Deere colours seen in previous sets. However, due to the relatively small number of pieces include, we don't expect any major details or functions in the 8+ set.
Then we move on to a license making a comeback with 42167 Mack LR Electric Garbage Truck being the first Mack set since 2018. However, the set wont be huge as for a reasonable price of $34.99, 503 pieces are included. This will not be the case for 42171 *LEGO Technic* though which will be the most expensive set of the wave at $219.99 for 1,642 pieces. Expect this to be a very complex model especially as it is 18+.
