Seven sets were released on the 1st of January 2025 for the LEGO Harry Potter theme and at least seven more will follow this Summer for the theme but now it's time to look at what's happening with the retirement of some of our beloved older sets from the popular licensed theme.
We've got information covering all sets on the market for the LEGO Harry Potter theme, covering the years up to 2027. Remember that this information is likely to change as new sets hit shelves, like the next 18+ D2C for the theme, and sales continue to increase or decrease. However, we can say that most of the LEGO Harry Potter sets released in 2022 or before will definitely have retired at the end of 2026 to make way for even more fan-favourite scenes and Hogwarts buildings.
At the end of this year, a total of two LEGO Harry Potter 18+ sets will no longer be available: 75978 Diagon Alley and 76391 Hogwarts Icons - Collectors' Edition. The former of these has been on shelves since 2020, bringing to life the most detailed version of Diagon Alley yet. Luckily, the only direct expansion we've had to this model of 76417 Gringotts Wizarding Bank - Collectors' Edition will remain around until 2026 at the earliest but the same can't be said for 76441 Hogwarts Castle: Duelling Club which won't even last a year on shelves.

While this list provides a rough outline of LEGO's retirement strategy for Harry Potter sets, always keep an out for changes and updates throughout the year. LEGO themselves will chop and change models in an extremely short period of time so our advice is to purchase a set whilst you can. But luckily plenty more sets will be coming throughout this year so be ready to splash the cash on even more models from the wizarding world.
