With the 1st of January 2025 seeing the release of a total of seven brand new LEGO Icons sets, including three from the now fully fledged LEGO Botanicals theme, it's time to look at what's happening with the retirement of some of our beloved older sets from the adult-friendly 18+ theme.
We've got information covering all sets on the market for the LEGO Icons theme, covering the years up to 2028. Remember that this information is likely to change as new sets hit shelves, like the rumoured 10354 The Lord Of The Rings: Bag End, and sales continue to increase or decrease. However, we can say that most of the LEGO Icons sets released in 2021 and 2022 will definitely have retired at the end of 2026 to make way for even more 18+ Icons models.
A total of 11 LEGO Icons models will be leaving shelves at the end of this year including two Modular Buildings and two Winter Village sets. This comes as no surprise however as LEGO continue to expand these subthemes annually with new and exciting ideas executed to an extremely high quality. In December though we will be seeing the last of LEGOs 90th Anniversary celebrations as 2022s 10305 Lion Knights' Castle retires alongside the only Piece By Piece physical LEGO set of 10391 Over the Moon with Pharrell Williams.

While this list provides a rough outline of LEGO's retirement strategy for Icons sets, always keep an out for changes and updates throughout the year. LEGO themselves will chop and change models in an extremely short period of time so our advice is to purchase a set whilst you can. But luckily plenty more sets will be coming throughout this year so be ready to splash the cash on even more 18+ LEGO sets and obscure licenses.
